Floreat Loves : Top Ten of the Week : 8 November 2019

by Beth Abood |

Another Friday, another edition of Floreat Loves: Top Ten of the Week. Here are the top ten images from the gram that inspired us at Floreat this week.

1. Tomotattle

This Alexander McQueen number for Vogue Hong Kong is reminding us of a red rose - aptly timed now that the local rose season is back in full swing!

2. Frances Palmer

Frances hand makes these incredibly unique and intricate ceramics and then honours them SO beautifully with flowers, which is a very important part of our job as florists.

3. Florastarkey

Autumn in England - there is truly nothing like it. And arrangements made with flowers picked from a garden like this one are the best kind.

4. Vogue Magazine

We learned from Vogue this week that Mexico City’s Xochimilco district—which translates roughly to “where the flowers grow”—is now a UNESCO Heritage Site. This warms our hearts! Flowers are so good for the soul.

5. Natural Art Flowers

The composition of this artwork from Natural Art Flowers is so true to its name. Artichokes, orchids, anthuriums, brass vases and a tomato. Inspiring our creations over here at Floreat..

6. Hattie Molloy

Hattie is a true floral artist/magician. Everything she touches turns to gold and this flowers and soil piece she created for Cub Sport's latest music video is no exception.

7. Rodarte

We saw a lot of beautiful fascinators out this week for the Melbourne Cup but this soft and pretty butterfly crown takes the cake.

8. WifeNYC

Sophie carefully hand paints each palm leaf or petal in her work, reminding us how important it can be to slow things down and enjoy the process in our own work.

9. Lou Flowers

I'm sure Lindsay Cummins' background in fashion has influenced her floristry skills and she makes this floral arrangement for Aimee Song's Song of Style look so effortless. That single deep red anthurium is the key!

10. Hock Your Frocks

We've got no wedding work this weekend at Floreat, so you'll find us on top of tables doing that ^.

Happy weekend all!
