Beth's Review:

I think this book should be renamed! I picked it up thinking I was going to learn how to make a Christmas wreath, maybe a fresh one and a dried one, but instead I came away inspired to hang plant matter from anything with a beam or hook.

The book is broken down into four sections: fresh, foraged, dried and festive, each one offering inspiration and how-tos for wreath style arrangements (i.e. things you can hang). I've been a florist for years now and honestly thought I'd seen it all, but found myself getting excited by new ideas each time I'd turn the page.

There are very clear, specific and detailed instructions for how to use wreaths and "meadow balls" at weddings and events, embellishing geometric shapes and branches, making garlands for mirrors, natural chandeliers, flower walls, mobiles, hanging herb bundles, and so much more. This book is not just geared at florists but is very accessible (and encouraging) to anyone who wants to have a go at being creative with nature.

I love the philosophy of the authors; they talk a lot about the language of flowers, and the subtle meaning that is conveyed when certain flower types are used. They encourage the reader to work with the seasons, appreciate the imperfections in flowers, and most of all nurture a connection with the natural world around them.

Love, love, loved this book, which has now been added to my very long "Want" list.
