Beth's Review:
Katie Daisy is an artist who features flowers heavily in her work. This book is an amalgamation of her art, inspired by the long summer days of her Illinois childhood, spent enjoying the magic of the natural world. Her goal for this book is to inspire people to discover or rediscover that magic.
Inside you will find beautifully drawn quotes, how-tos, lists and recipes that will inspire you to pack a simple lunch and go on an adventure, get lost in nature, or just enjoy some time doing simple things that feel good.
Visually, this book is intentionally reminiscent of a child’s journal and there are sweet touches sprinkled throughout, such as the page in the dead centre of the book which simple reads, “press your flowers here”.
But my favourite quote in the book is one that feels so relevant at a time when it’s easy to focus on all the heaviness of the world. It reads: “So love, look with eyes for seeing beauty, and get out into it”.
This is such a joyous book that reminds you how simple life can really be if you choose to partake in simple pleasures.
