Beth’s Review:

I often get overwhelmed trying to find the right balance in living greener. When I go "too green" it feels like I’m sacrificing too much and sucking all the fun out of life, but when I tip the scales in the other direction the guilt sets in!

This compact and neatly categorised book takes some of that overwhelm away by breaking down Jen and her family’s lifestyle changes into 52 small, achievable changes that can be done at your own pace, or some not done at all. Somehow, it makes living greener seem a lot simpler.

The book covers almost every aspect you can think of around the home and garden, from tips for decluttering and using less energy to planting for the bees, keeping the household clean in an eco way, eating and dressing more sustainably, natural body and skin care and ends with a wonderful chapter on having a simple Christmas.

I’ll definitely be keeping this book handy as I make a few more changes in my own life.

We recycle, try to reduce our waste and plastics, choose organic food when shopping, eat less meat and opt for environmentally friendly cleaning products. Yet we often wish we were doing more and it can be overwhelming to know where to start.
