I am loving the flowers at the market at the moment!! I've seen a huge shift over the last few weeks, from real the summery blooms to more autumn/winter flowers, including all the bulb flowers.
So here are some of our favourites we are using a lot of at the moment, as well as a few that are still around from last month.
1. Tulips
Meaning - Deep Love
We love the double tulips, because the look so classy, and when they open up they look almost like a peony or a beautiful rose!
They come in a lovely creamy white, different shades of pink, Burgundy and purple. We also love the parrot tulips, and these come in reds, pinks and white.

2. Cyclamen
Meaning - Love and Sincere Tenderness
Most often associated with beautiful plants this time of year, we love using cyclamen as cut flowers!! Grown, and carefully picked by our friend Arietta and her Dad Tom on the Central Coast, they are so cute on their own in a little vase, but are also fun mixed into one of our bright bouquets.
They come in the most beautiful shades of pink, red, and of course white.

3. Zinnia
Meaning - lasting friendship, goodness and remembrance
Zinnia have been in and out over the last few months, but at the moment have the most vivid little faces!! Our favourites are the green and soft pink varieties.

4. Hyacinth
Meaning - The hyacinth is the flower of the sun god Apollo and is a symbol of peace, commitment and beauty, but also of power and pride. The hyacinth is often found in Christian churches as a symbol of happiness and love.
I am always very happy when hyacinths come back into the market. They are perfect in a vase on the coffee table, and I think they are best one one colour en masse.
I love white, but also soft pink and soft blue.
They have a very distinct scent, so best for people who love scented flowers. They are also very pretty in a pot, which we will be selling soon :)
5. Hakea
Hakea is native to Australia. It has a striking evergreen foliage, and the most special yellow and red flower that looks like a little pincushion.
6. Giant candle banksias
Also native to Australia, these stunning banksias have a beautiful rusty colour, and look amazing in our native bouquets, or even our botanic ones. They also dry out really nicely and are perfect if you want something to last a long time and retain it's colour.
And here are a few flowers also featured last month, but still looking good!
7. Tuberose
Meaning - Peace, Purity and Innocence
Tuberose is at it's peak, and it's long skinny stems of champagne blooms, with a suggestion of soft pink, bring the most gorgeous perfume to our bouquets.

8. Dahlias
Meaning - eternal love and commitment
Dahlias are around now until Mother's Day. They come in beautiful colours, including bright pinks and apricots, white, Burgundy, and my favourite, cafe au lait, and also different sizes, from the cute little pompom variety, to some that are as big as a plate!
Dahlias can last about a week if kept in the right spot.
9. Scabiosa
Meaning - pure love, purity and peace
Scabiosa is a very pretty flower, with a very unfortunate name. Coming in white, pale pink, raspberry, Burgundy, and mauve, they are a real english "rustic style" flower, cute as a button, and a lovely addition to many of our bouquets.
10. Cosmos
Meaning - order and harmony
Coming in white and hot pink, cosmos are often used to symbolize order and harmony, due largely to the flower's harmonious petals.
Another really "English" style flower, in particular, the different pinks in the pink cosmos can be quite unique and lovely.
11. Banksia Speciosa
Meaning - Showy
Banksia speciosa is one of our favourite banksias! Masculine and strong, it looks great in our corporate arrangements, but also in our native and eclectic bouquets, and I love it's soft colour and zigzag leaves.
While not defined in the Victorian Language of Flowers, it's latin name means "showy", and it certainly is the star of the show!
12. Roses
Meaning - Love
Beautiful locally grown roses are amazing at the moment!!
My favourite varieties are princess, which are a stunning musk pink colour, honey dijon (no description needed?), Evelyn, which is a stunning, soft peach David Austin variety, and little old Cecile brunners, which are cute little button sized pink garden roses.
But I also love every other colour, so I don't know why I narrow it down :)
Our beautiful locally grown roses have so much character, and the most amazing scent. And every rose has a different scent, so in line with their colour. Nature is amazing isn't it?

13. Hydrangea
Meaning - Boastfulness, Heartlessness
Hydrangea, not as it's height as it was in November/December, but featuring in it's darker, greener, and more neutral hues, which I love!

13. Hybrid Delphinium
Meaning - Cheerfulness and Goodwill
Another favourite, particularly the "pink" and pale blue. Beautiful, elegant hybrid delphinium is in it's element at the moment, strong and tall, it looks amazing in some of our larger bunches, and especially our country style bunches.
